The Ministry of Transport (MOT) test is a standard annual test to assess a vehicle’s safety, exhaust emissions, and roadworthy condition. If your vehicle passes, you will receive a certificate valid for the next year. An MOT fail, however, will require further repairs and fixes.

MOT Legal Requirements
An MOT test is legally required annually for all vehicles in the UK that are older than 3 years. The DVSA determines the test criteria. Only professional mechanics and technicians can perform the test.
You are responsible for ensuring that the MOT certificate is renewed every 12 months. The next assessment can be carried out up to 28 days before the expiry date.
